Proverbs – Wealth – 21:17 – 253

He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.

He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

Proverbs – Chapter:21 Verse:17

2 Corinthians – Wealth – 9:6-8 – 289

Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work.

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.

2 Corinthians – Chapter:9 Verse:6-8

Psalms – Wealth – 112:5,9 – 231

It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends. He will maintain his cause in judgment… He has dispersed, he has given to the poor. His righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted with honor.

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion… He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

Psalms – Chapter:112 Verse:5,9

Psalms – Wealth – 37:3-5 – 225

Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Psalms – Chapter:37 Verse:3-5

Proverbs – Wealth – 21:5 – 251

The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

Proverbs – Chapter:21 Verse:5

Isaiah – Wealth – 55:1-3 – 268

Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness. Turn your ear, and come to me. Hear, and your soul will live: and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Isaiah – Chapter:55 Verse:1-3

Psalms – Wealth – 41:1 – 229

Blessed is he who considers the poor. Yahweh will deliver him in the day of evil.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Psalms – Chapter:41 Verse:1

Psalms – Wealth – 37:25-28 – 227

I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. All day long he deals graciously, and lends. His offspring* is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever. For Yahweh loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

Psalms – Chapter:37 Verse:25-28

Matthew – Wealth – 16:25-26 – 277

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew – Chapter:16 Verse:25-26
